Hmm… Was that my 3rd rak‘ah or 4th?

Forgetting rak’ah is part of being human. Every Muslim has experienced it – even the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam once forgot, and from that came sujood as-sahw.

With Ahad Smart PRTE Digital, you can salah with full focus, while your rak’ah are always counted for you.

Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam said:

“When any one of you is in doubt about his salah and he does not know how much he has prayed, three or four (rak’ahs). he should cast aside his doubt and base his salah on what he is sure of. then perform two prostrations before giving salutations. If he has prayed five rak’ahs, they will make his salah an even number for him, and if he has prayed exactly four, they will be humiliation for the devil.”

Shahih Muslim 571

Why Do We Often Forget Rak‘ah?

In general, the answer is because of losing focus or lacking khushu’ (solemnity). But why is that so? The Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam explained that such forgetfulness is caused by the whispers of the devil.

Do you know the name of this devil? The Prophet Muhammad SAW mentioned that the devil who specifically disturbs us during salah – causing us to forget our rak’ah – is called khanzab/khinzab.

Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam said:

“That is (the doing of a) satan (devil) who is known as khinzab, and when you perceive its effect, seek refuge with ALLAH from it and spit three times to your left. I did that and ALLAH dispelled that from me.”

Shahih Muslim 2203

Is Consistency Important in Counting Rak'ah?

Not only important, it is absolutely essential. If a device is inconsistent, for instance freezing or skipping counts during prostration, then the device is no longer a solution, but instead creates a new problem, namely confusion.

This is the core strength of Ahad PRTE. It is equipped with PLSi sensor technology, ensuring highly consistent and precise rak‘ah counting — so your focus remains on worship.
